Since I just put on my winter tires, I have to store my all seasons for a couple months. I planned on just stacking them in my closet and calling it a day. But are there any steps you guys take when storing a set of tires (on wheels) for the winter? I'm curious if there is a proper way to stack them, should I take the air out, and anything else I should do? For your time, snow nuts!

Stack them on their side and put in bags to keep the sunlight off.

Just keep em out of the sun. Nothing else matters, you aren't trying to preserve them for a hundred years...

Tires off the car
Air down
Put them in trash bags, store on their sides, no tire treatments
Keep temps between 40-90* F

I just stack them in the corner of the shed (has no windows so no sun) on top of eachother. Come spring I'll hose them off and stack my snow tires in the same way, in the same place.

How much would you recommend lowering the pressure? Is this to lower stress on the rubber or something?

Sound logic, they aren't new tires anyways so I don't need to worry much. I'll definitely keep them out of the sun though since that is a common theme in these replies!

Yeah if I leave my closet door open, a bit of sunlight gets in there so I'll definitely bag em.

Half the running PSI or so. If the tires are outside or cold wear gloves if you do it by hand. The air will be super cold.
I have to do this every year with my drag tires to prevent sidewall cracking.
